If You Have a Dental Emergency, Call Us First

Call (940) 566-1828 as soon as you can and tell us what’s happening, so we can get you in as quickly as possible. Our regular hours are Monday–Thursday, 8am–5pm, plus the first Friday of the month, 8am–12pm.

Go to an emergency room or call 911 if you have significant facial swelling that is spreading, trouble breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or a serious injury to the head or jaw. Those situations can’t wait for a dental appointment.

Common Dental Emergencies We Treat

  • Severe toothache or pain that keeps you up at night
  • Infected or abscessed tooth, often treated with root canal therapy
  • Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
  • Lost filling or crown
  • Knocked-out tooth — time matters, so call right away

What to Do Until You’re Seen

  • Toothache: rinse gently with warm water and floss to remove any trapped food. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum, which can irritate the tissue.
  • Knocked-out adult tooth: pick it up by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently if dirty without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If you can’t, keep it moist in milk and come in immediately.
  • Chipped or broken tooth: rinse your mouth, save any pieces, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
  • Lost crown or filling: keep the crown if you can and bring it with you. Avoid chewing on that side.

These steps are only temporary first aid — the cause of the problem still needs to be treated by a dentist.

Emergency Visit Costs

We’ll examine you, explain what’s wrong, and give you an estimate for treatment before we proceed. We’ll also talk you through your options so you can make the best decision for your situation.

We accept all major PPO plans as an out-of-network provider, file your claims for you, and give you an upfront estimate before treatment begins. Financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit. See our new patient page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you see emergency patients the same day?

We make every effort to. Call as early in the day as you can and let us know what’s wrong so we can prioritize.

Are you open on weekends or evenings?

Our regular hours are Monday–Thursday, 8am–5pm, with the first Friday of the month, 8am–12pm. We’re closed on weekends. If you have swelling that spreads, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a serious injury, go to the nearest emergency room.

I’m not a current patient. Can I still call?

Yes. We welcome new patients, including those coming to us with a dental emergency.

What if my tooth stopped hurting?

Pain that suddenly goes away can mean the nerve inside the tooth has died, not that the problem has healed. The infection can still be there, so it’s still worth getting examined.

Can you treat a dental abscess?

Yes. An abscess is a serious infection that needs prompt attention. Treatment depends on the tooth and may include a root canal or extraction. If you have swelling with fever, or trouble breathing or swallowing, go to an emergency room.
